Small Jet Lands Without Landing Gear

Luckily for the passengers this was not exactly a crash landing. More like a Zen landing, you know, "a landing with no landing gear".

that was a controlled landing, not a crash. (prop btw, not jet) situation was likely the landing gear was damaged durring or after takeoff so they pattern at a nearby airport while emergency vehicles arrive, firetrucks/ambulances/ect. durring approach they turn off the engine and try to stop the prop so that the blades wont touch the ground (save the engines). it was prolly one of the main wheels was damaged so its safer to land gear up instead of down to make the landing controllable.

i used to work at a small airport for several years and we had to do this a few times. often planes will have an auxillary fuel tank in the belly of the fuselage that has to be emptied into the two main fuel bladders in the wings. only thing left to do is stop the engines and try to stall as best as possible just before landing to make a slow touchdown. actually looks kinda peacefull that slow.
