I have a friend who truly IS psychic and is scared out of her mind to tell anyone. She has told me some brilliant things predicting what would happen days before they do but she absolutely refuses to use this gift in any way like these psychic consultations. One of the reasons is that she predicted her fathers death and couldn`t stop it.

So yes there definitely are these scam artists out there but the real thing does exist as well.

There is another kind of trick going on here and we are the marks. This TV show makes money the more we see it and one way to get viewers to watch is to make them feel they have seen more than they really have.
I`m quite interested to know the subtlties of how they fool the punters but they didn`t actually show anything apart from the notebook trick. Ok so he said a few bog standard statements that could apply to anyone, especially those woried enough about life to consult a psychic. But really good psychic scammers use very good mind manipulation techniques and this film doesn`t show any of them. All it does is show a guy in a room sneaking a notebook through a hole.

Derren Brown, David Blane and this film all make use our our own eagerness to see the sneaky scam and we are actually conditioned in to being more impressed than the scene actually warrents.
