agreed. actually most dark things are considered gothic, emos are just a bunch of rich bored spoiled kids who, to make their lives seem more interesting and to get more attention, go around and saying that their lives sux and they want to die when they have nothing to complain about.
true, they may wear dark colored clothing but that dosent mean that everything dark is emo.

here are a few comparisons of emos and goths:
1. clothing
emo: dark colored clothes (usually jeans and a t-shirt)
goth: dark colored clothes (usually unique, sexy, and lots of metal. ex. corsets, boots, leather, etc.)
2. hair
emo: gay haircuts
goth: beautiful, elegant, and unique. and sometimes just plain long and black
3. make-up
emo: just a little eyeliner
goth: creative style. sometimes artistic.
4. music
emo: gay
goth: varies; beautiful, heavy metal, death metal, and mellow
5. merchandise
emo: T.T
goth: death, destruction, blood, and yes, even satan (eventhough most goths dont worship the devil)

well there u go, a few ways to tell the differences between what is emo and what is gothic.
