If America would have taken his advice, perhaps 9/11 could have been adverted. Not saying all passengers should have guns, but surely the pilot`s could have had protection. It is no different then an armoured vehicle, we give the security on those weapons to protect our money, why not give pilot`s guns or at the least tazers to protect our most precious cargo, human life.

You would not lose cabin pressure to a gunshot in the hull. MythBusters proved that its a cinematic myth. You would land the plane just fine.

Both Hitler and Stalin pulled the gun-control thing! not just Stalin!..

Anywho, I think anyone who goes through the courses, to familiarize themselves with fire-arms, and how/when to use them should be allowed to carry a fire-arm.
Would make the gangs/thieves/robbers/assholes think twice
before using their generally NOT legal firearm.

Gun Control doesn`t work if you disarm the people who need the guns to protect themselves from people who will get them illegally.

Edit; I don`t own a gun, and probably never will.. Just my opinion.

Guns are not the problem, they are the means for the ends. People are the problem. If people know there`s a dozen people packing in a bank, nobody will rob it.

d3m0n1z3d, maybe in a country like the US where the amount of guns in the public already is stupendous compared to pretty much any developed nation, maybe then you could use the argument that people need to be able to own firearms to protect themselves.

Anywhere else, it`s possibly the most contradictory argument ever. When you allow just about any adult to buy a firearm at a gun show without any background checks you are highly swaying the advantage in the favour of the criminal.

Where criminals have legal access to guns they will clearly utilise them whenever they can. As for the average joe protecting his turf, what are the odds he`s going to have his gun available and loaded nearby when needs it? What are the odds he`s even fired it before?

The average criminal is likely to be undereducated, not particularly social or resourceful and is far less likely be able to attain a gun in a country where they are prohibited from being owned by near but all private citizens.

It`s when criminals don`t have easy access to guns that they think twice, not the other way around.

^^Redsky criminals don`t attain guns legally so gun control will do little to affect them. Trust me, I know some and I know how they get their guns. The right to bear arms was supposed to be a check in the citizens favor in defense against the govt not criminals anyways.

RedSky, it is federal law that any person seeking to buy a fire-arm in the United States be subject to a background check, and as far as I`m aware they also need to show (atleast in colorado) a fire-arms license.

The problem isn`t criminals having easy access to guns, the problem is, if they really want them, they will get them anyway.

I think you`re right though, if you eliminate the access for guns from every-one, the "gun" murder rate might be lower. (if thats what you`re implying)

And EntropY* The constitutional right was given to us to defend us, if need be, against our government.. You been asleep for the last 300 years?
