I have to be the first to say that doing this on the freeway is not only one of the stupidest things you could do but also probably one of the most dangerous.

One dip in the freeway, one piece of debris at that speed and you, your car, and anyone else you end up hitting along the way are toast. All because you `had` to go show off your new car to all of your internet buddies.

I mean seriously, what happens when youre going 200mph and you rear end the car that is stalled out in the fast lane? You both die and you murder someone along the way.

@Jareardy -> Go to a track? Where can you find a strait away long enough to reach speeds over 200MPH without going to the Utah salt flats? At lease they were considerate enough to do it in the wee hours of the morning when the least amount of people were using the freeway.
These guys are no worse than the people who do the cannon ball run across the US. They know the risk but still have the balls to do what needs to be done to push the envelope.
Back in the 70`s my dad and all his buddies would drag race on stretches of US-70. Doing it illegally is part of the rush.

^^^Top Gear only hit that much because of their track length. The Murcielago doesn`t accelerate fast enough to reach higher speeds of that distance.

Speedos are usually off by 5%, so I don`t really think they hit that speed, need gps to verify it!

No, it usually reads slower than what it is going. Like my car according to the speedo goes 165, 166mph, but my tom tom says 156-8mph.
