Love you George, a great thinker and very funny guy but go back to your history books and you will find that WW2 didn`t start with Pearl Harbour, it started in 1939, just took a bit longer to convince the US to get onside. Maybe you have just revealed the reason the US were so reluctant to get into it?

^ He used the term "full fledged world war" so I think he was referring to the US` involvement/Pearl Harbor as the point at which it turned from `regional` to `world`.

Carlin is a LIAR, Canada has a Pledge of Allegiance, Australia, England, and most countries have some sort of pledge. to compare us to Nazi`s and Fascists is an outright LIE.
and when was the last time you heard of a kid bieng pressured into saying the pledge. I know plenty of kids who do not say the pledge, and none of them have been ostracized. that is ridiculous.
But then I guess if George Carlin says it it must be right, no need to check up on his information, he couldn`t possibly want to lie to us would he?

A friend of mine is Australian and used to live there, she has never even heard of an Australian pledge

No, for the love of God dont elect Carlin, or Colbert for that matter, or even John Stewart, as your presedent. They tell good jokes, but that doesnt make them presedential material. Carlin is an opinionated old man, who most people porobably find offensive. If all americans would, in the future, kindly take a step back and think before they shove someone into the oval office, maybe you could come up with a decent candidate. Ron Paul maybe.
