What is this from?

I like the editing on the one part where Hitler is looking at the Statue of Liberty. I am 99% sure that was originally a film of Hitler`s first visit to the Eiffle Tower after the success of Fall Gelb.

We were probably closer to joining the Germans in WWI when they were still a monarchist state and we really didn`t have any government issues with them (fascism). The biggest reason we didn`t join the Triple Alliance was the loss we would sustain from loaning France and Britain millions in war funds.

If you read Mein Kampf, Hitler details that he was, at first, willing to ally with the US, because he thought that we were mostley aryan tranplant immigrants. But later found out we were just a messy combination of nationalities.

To be fair, there were Nazis in New York that paid their respects to the victims of the Hindenburg shortly after the disaster. It was pretty funny seeing them walking around with their nazi salutes and the swastika draped over a room in the U.S. at that time.

The scene from 30-33 is real footage from New York. There was a group called Friends of New Germany that renamed themselves the German-American Bund. They were lead by Fritz Kuhn. They actually did have a parade in New York but I`m not sure about the footage in this film. For further information, the History Channel had a program called Nazi America: A Secret History and it started with the Bund.

While in N.Y. he visited and addressed the students of Columbia University. When asked why his nation is opressing jews, he responded, "We dont have Jews in Germany. I dont know where you heard this rumor." He would explain that all of the so called concentration camps were actually power plants strickly for providing his people with affordable energy. He then said, "Bush is Jerk!" and all the students applauded him.

Damn, at the end there, it`s the Nazi flag flying OVER the American flag. That`s a slap in the face.

I don`t like to think of how the world might be if we had allied up. It would possibly be better, maybe even the dream realized of one planet united, instead of multiple countries with different views. But it could be a lot worse, and I`m sure I wouldn`t exist today, along with most of us.
