why the hell does anybody actually watch Bill O`Reilly. That prick needs to move to Iran so he can claim that he lives in a country with no homos. He`s just a stupid ignorant prick.

So if being homosexual is showing your sexuality wouldn`t it be the same for a straight couple ?
What I think is sick is how American have all their beauty contest and popularity contests in school which only are going to make things worse. You are taught from childhood in USA that being beautiful or popular will win you prizes and prestige. That`s the fucked up part.
I hate this O`reilly guy and his only purpose is to find controversial subjects to boost rating and make American people dumber so the government can proceed with their hidden agenda`s.

Wow I hate when Homo`s use Black`s oppression as though they are facing the same struggles.

Sexual preference (conduct) is completely different than race, and this is the first time I am shocked to say that O`Reilly was right on that.

But the whole issue is nonsense news that Fox love`s to put on for airtime and divert everyone from the major issues in our society today, ECONOMY, POLITICS, WAR ETC... mastergryne I agree.

^ being gay is not a conduct issue.

It`s an innate quality, like (but not identical) to race. And yes, racial inequality and sexuality have faced different challenges and histories, but that`s no reason for one to put down the other.

If you`re so clear that being gay is "conduct", then that implies you can choose to be gay. And if you think you can choose to be gay, brother, then I`m telling you that you most likely ARE gay.

Why do I say that? No one who is truly straight, bi or gay actually thinks it`s a choice. It`s who they are. Only those who are questioning their own orientation think it`s a choice.

Wow, I`m still regularly surprised at how little logic Bill-O is able to muster.
I mean, he must know what is going to be debated at least an hour or so in advance, yet his arguments show no intelligence or clear thought.

He is both aggravating an hilarious to watch. I probably would have laughed at him too.

and phatryde ,

If you can`t see any similarities between oppression of blacks (or other "races") and oppression of homosexuals, you don`t deserve to talk about oppression at all.

^^NYC

I love your uploads and posts and I agree with most of what you`ve written. I do want to say, however, that as a Queer activist and someone who works with kids, I think we shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes insisting that "choice" isn`t an issue where sexuality is concerned.

Whether or not sexuality is a choice probably depends a lot on the individual and varies from person to person, time to time, relationship to relationship. I think there *are* folks for whom their sexuality, whatever it may be, is a choice.

And it should be.

Religion is a choice, yet no one (especially the O`Reillys of the world) would ever argue that it is somehow less valid or less deserving of protection because it is a choice.

Political affiliation is a choice and, again, a protected, almost sacred one.

And I, for one, am all for people of all ages choosing to try anything sexually, sensually etc so long as it`s safe and consensual. if, after trying it out, a previously "straight" person decides they`re not "gay", but they`re not exactly "straight" anymore, then *fabulous*!

When we insist that sexuality is never a choice, we paint sexual minorities into a corner, wall them (Stonewall them, if you will) behind a ghetto.

The best way out of these traps and beyond this parochial thinking is to *encourage* the idea that sexuality *is* a choice and to encourage "straights" to try on "gay", "gays" to try on "straight", and see if we can all become a little more flexble and open-minded.

Many of the kids I work with are already thinking like this. They pretty much assume that everyone is some shade of "bi" and they don`t get bogged down splitting hairs over what "side" someone may land on, any given day or in any given relationship.

They are a great example and it`s one I follow and promote.

^ excellent point, klavlav.

Agree there is a spectrum of sexuality. I`m not the least bit stereotypically gay, but I could never sleep with a woman. And I have bi friends, and more effeminate str8 friends who`d never sleep with a man.

People need to be open to sexually to discover who they are. But once they discover who they are - bi, gay, straight - I`m not convinced there are further choices to be made.

NYCjock being gay is definitely a choice are you kidding me? Our reproductive organs by nature are programmed for the opposite sex.

Dick In Pussy = Baby

Talking about people`s sexual preference is belittling yourself, and this is bullshit that O`Reilly and many others focus on garbage topics like this.

I`m not gay, nor do I care if someone is gay. But the homo`s i`ve talked to have grown up with females, or hadn`t had strong father figures in their life`s. Also this topic is a bullshit scapegoat to whats more important in our SOCIETY TODAY.

Fuck that Gays have more rights than blacks in America, and are protected a whole lot better. Why do they compare their struggles to blacks its total bullshit. I think Jesse Jackson or Al Fat Ass Sharpton need to take better notes on what these homo`s do to rally their agenda so mainstreamly.

The "who`s got more rights - who`s more oppressed?" argument is a game no one wins.

In the UK yesterday a group of teenagers was sentenced (one to life in prison) for their brutal murder of a gay man.

Racist crimes are, unfortunately, also common news.

*No one* has "more rights" than anyone else. Everyone faces possible discrimination until the day that *everyone* has exactly the same rights. Gays should have the same right to marry, walk down the street, be "out" at school as whites, blacks, Catholics, etc.

(and if you`ll notice, the girls O`Reilly is talking about probably have to deal with *multiple* forms of discrimination - homophobic, racist, sexist, maybe class/income/poverty issues, you name it).

Equal rights for one group does not mean less for you. I`ve said it before, I`ll say it again, in *every* society where gays have more rights, straights have more rights, too; to marry who they want, when they want, if they want, have the kind of sex they want, get divorced, use birth control etc.

So if you like *your* human rights, support other folks` human rights, too, including gays. Because their fate is yours. We`re all in this together against the fascists and hate-mongers who won`t be happy until the world is one, big, straight, white Aryan homeland.

++ for Klavkav for compassion

-- to Phatride for hate. Which religion are you, Christian or Muslim? Because those dudes Jesus and/or Mohammed didn`t teach you much, I guess.

Phatride, I`m also guessing everytime you put your dick + pussy, you are expecting a baby?

nyc and klav, i go back and forth in my head should i write something or not. i don`t have anything against gay people or any people because it would only effect my own health. so i understand than that the natural position that i strive for does not contain such beliefs. However i write this because i hear a little goose step from you guys. I don’t understand why you have to try and change the world?

^^ brake fast, wow. great comment.

I want to change the world first and foremost for ideological reasons. Ever since I was little, my mother called me "The Public Defender" - always questioning why she thought blacks and mexicans were inferior. Or why women couldn`t be leaders. etc. etc. etc. - it`s just in my blood.

But I also do it because it impacts ME DIRECTLY. Economically and socially, gays are not treated as equals. I have some advantages blacks don`t have - I can hide - but that doesn`t make hiding right. And blacks have some advantages (at least now) that gays don`t have - they are not prone to "it`s your choice" arguments.

I`ve been fighting this for 30 years, and am slowly making progress - my friends, my family, the bank I work at, my clients, my neighbors, my religious catholic family all understand gay rights better.

I don`t want to throw back hate in return - and you don`t have to love me either. I just want to be tolerated and treated fairly.
