Dutch artist Theo Jansen demonstrates his amazingly lifelike kinetic sculptures, built from plastic tubes and lemonade bottles. His "Strandbeests" (Beach Creatures) are built to move and even survive on their own.

He plans to put those on the beaches, there will always be douchebags who will see one of those and destroy it or knock it over. With that aside, its probably one of the most ingenius inventions I`ve ever seen.

I actually purchased this guys dvd about a year ago, it was total shit, terrible quality and editing, which is really disappointing considering how cool these creatures are, this guy is a total genius. I love the big one with the solid `skin,` I think that`s the one people can actually ride in and power.

That is one of the most amazing things I have seen in a long time. This guy is a genius, I would love to see a herd of these. This could be one of those futuristic weapons too, the heavy load design made me think of a walking tank.
