all I saw was a flaming douche. I agree the Vatican is full of bs like most organized churches but Bill is just a dick with his relentless religion bashing. You can just see him trying to get viewers by appealing to their egos. " If you believe in god you are retarded and deluded, If you don`t then your fucking Einstein." Odd because in all his scientific wisdom Einstein also showed respect for god.

Bill Maher is fine in his religion bashing and he doesn`t make it out to be that if you are atheist you are "Einstein". By the way Einstein was not religious, he was merely in awe of the beauty of the universe, which he sometimes referred to as "God."

Thats right Einstein may never have been religious but he did believe there was a higher power governing the universe which is why he was against the theory that everything is random. Thats where you get the two quotes from "God, does not play dice" and "Don`t tell got what to do with his dice"

Einstein`s quote was actually "God does not play dice with the Universe" which is widely taken to say that there`s an order to everything, and it should be observed and appreciated, but not worshipped.

^ It`s true. Einstein explicitly denied belief in a personal god and organized religion when he was asked about it by a reporter when he first came to America (he got a lot of threatening mail from Americans, some telling him to go back to Germany to get killed by the nazis).

The quote "God does not play dice with the universe" was in reference to his dislike of the implications of quantum mechanics including Heisenberg`s uncertainty principle which can be generalized to mean "the more precisely you know about a particle`s current state/position, the less you can know about where it`s going (because by measuring the former, you influence it). Einstein subscribed to a more classical, deterministic paradigm of the universe, which held him back severely. Ironically, he is one of the founding fathers of QM, but didn`t like the idea of it, so he swept it under the rug and ignored it while working on General Relativity. To this day, physicists are working to integrate GR with QM. If Einstein wasn`t so stubborn, he might have been able to make an even bigger contribution...
