I can't remember exactly where I heard it but the earth gains somewhere around 100 million tons of mass a year from space debris like micro-meteorites.
If you do the math, it is less than 1/64 a cubic inch or 1/2 cubic milliliter per square foot of earth's surface area.

A professor of mine did say that the Earth is growing as a result of meteorites and other space particles the planet collects while in orbit around the sun. This video is faulty, though, since the Earth is not like an expanding balloon, which would mean that even if the Earth does grow, Pangaea would still be able to stay intact. Hence, the reason Pangaea broke apart isn't due to the fact that Earth is growing.

Question....

Do you really think that the molten center of our earth produces very little chemical reactions only releasing gas into the upper layers of the earth?

In the center of our earth there are tons of chemical reations going on (much like our sun, which is also growing. Once it reaches a cooler tempature, like the bottom of our sea, it cools down, then expands, much like ice would do when frozen. this infact raises the oceans, and expands our earth.

Whos to say that the earth did not have frozen oceans much like mars, and by the expansion of earth revealed them to the sun, then melting them, creating life on earth?

It is a proven fact that the earth is expanding, so i really dont see how you guys can debate it, it is also a proven fact that all the land masses fit together (or close to), google Pangea if you want to learn a little more about it.

Im not saying this video is 100% accurate, but to think our earth just appeared this big, is a joke.

pangea didnt cover the entire surface of the planet... sure all the continents fit together, that doesnt mean that the entire earth was covered by land.

i don't see where all this extra mass and water came from unless the core of the earth was 3 times as dense as it is now and covered in a deep layer of water.

maybe the earth is filling with gas and it will deflate and we will all plunge under water like the old fable of noah
