Eh, still looks like string to me, only that would mean it'd have to be on a horizontal taught line. Looks like a neat trick!

Actually its a string between his 2 speakers (Or just attached to 1 speaker) the high bass makes the string vibrate thus making him hop up and down, and the "feet" are actualy just small metal pieces to give him weight.

Theese are usually sold by streetperformers in the more popular turist places. (In my case i found them in Barcelona)

At 0:28 you can see the string in the bottom corner of the monitor frame. It's about two 'stickers' up from the small square sticker on the bottom corner.
