Kiss the Rain. Written and performed by Yiruma. Born in South Korea, he moved to London in 1988 to attend the The Purcell Of Specialist Music School where he would graduate and go onto also graduate from the Kings College. His albums are sold all over the United States, Europe and Asia.

Ah hahahaha! Damn that cracked me up. Sorry, don't mean to make fun of you but it was hella funny.

Awesome song. Just got back from hanging out with my best friend (I'm a boy, she's a girl). I don't like her or anything but this really captures the mood I'm in. Good stuff.

How does this compare to Chopin, the Who, Brahms, Glass, Jimi Hendrix, Bach, Suzanne Vega, Webern, Sondheim, Scriabin??? Like Alf compares with E.T.??? but seriously..it's so sappy that it makes you want to donate your eyes to a girl you like who's going blind, but she likes someone else, but you still like her.

gotta have dark to have light - gotta have dissonance to make harmony something to look forward to. It's called Dynamics - and this pretty piece is constructed to not have extreme contrasts. Like painting with pastels or watercolor.

To test how easy it is to accomplish this sort of thing try this test - For the first 1/2 of the song, pretty much any note you play in the key of G#-Major will sound right, and then for the last bit anything in the key of A-Maj. And I mean pretty much anything will sound right, cuz it's all 9ths and 13ths, just pluck a few notes out on a piano and it will sound as though it were a natural and intentional part of the composition.
Now try to do that with any composer the world ever described as "great" for any reason. So I'm not saying this is a bad piece of music, I listened to the whole thing stoned and appreciated it, but lets call an apple an apple. It is what it is. (I voted this a 5 for original music that is simple and pretty - there is always room for more music in the world.)

^Samuelock, if I had to listen to this sort of thing everyday I'd kill things too.
