Firstly, methanol (whether it enters the body by ingestion, inhalation, or absorption through the skin) can be fatal due to its CNS depressant properties in the same manner as ethanol poisoning. Secondly, it is toxic by its breakdown (toxication) by the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase in the liver by forming formic acid and formaldehyde which cause permanent blindness by destruction of the optic nerve.[2] Fetal tissue will not tolerate methanol. Dangerous doses will build up if a person is regularly exposed to vapors or handles liquid without skin protection.

Be careful.

I also suggest using the no water hand wash, aka the clear gel that rub your hands together with. The stuff burns for a good couple minutes so you could mix the liquid mix with the gel and have green burning stuff for a few minutes.

I would recommend using alcohol (ethanol) instead due to the hazards of methanol. Boric acid will dissolve just as well but for a green flame you could just as well use copper chloride. That'd work well as front-lawn tiki torches on Halloween!

Wow, the guy just covers the bottle with his thumb when he shakes it... Why don't people read warning labels on chemicals before they use 'em?!
