I smoke pot every day for 10-15 yrs now and im fine,imagine if it was crack heroin id eather be dead or really fucked up,all's they need to do is legilize pot they can tax it and we can keep growing and smokeing it,oh yea 15 yrs of smokeing pot im a little lazy on typeing ;P

I've tried all drugs except meth - oxy-codone and meth i would guess are the worst 2. Oxy-codone is KILLER tho and its legal, much worse than all others.

By legalizing pot (and thus controlling it and taxing it) you take away a MAJOR cash cow for criminal and terrorist funding. Instead that money goes back into the public system were it can be used for MANY different things.

For instance, here in Canada pot is used by 1/3 of the population. It's grown here and it's a massive industry. Heroin and cocaine HAVE to be imported.. no way around that. The extra money from legalized and taxed soft drugs such as pot and mushrooms could be used to better educate people against the hard core drugs as well as bringing in lots more law enforcement to stem the flow coming into the country. If you had a big enough army just concentrating on stemming the flow of cocaine and heroin, it could be very effective!

Phred, you have spoken the words of common sense, I applaud you.
One problem I do see however, about marijuana, is that there is no sobriety testing. I do not want stoned people driving, although they may drive slowly, they are less attentive. To tell if there is an active about of THC in the system at the time of a transgression, you have to do a blood test, and there is no way in hell something like that would get legalized. Tapping veins on the side of the road, no F-ing way. Other than that, I'd say lets cut out the shit and make it legal.

I was caught in texas for about a gram of pot. One frikin year of probation, mandatory counseling classes, an evil - really evil - probation officer that believed she was doing good for the world, mandatory "drug offendor education" classes, which must be passed or they take your driver's license (even tho I was at home, nothing remotely involving a car).. And over $6,000 in costs to me.

That kind of disruption can straight up fuck someone's life up. While in their "classes" I learned that over 76% of the US has tried pot at least once. And more than half of the prison population of a country known for its high prison populations is there for a drug-related offense.

That made me wonder, how many innocent people, not causing harm of any kind to anyone or anything else, in the privacy of their own homes, have gone to a place as horrible and life-altering as prison!? We're jailing innocent people. The law is a crime in this situation.

And there is a whole system of people employed by the state, thriving on the criminalization of something that shouldn't be. Kickbacks and payoffs are also very real reasons why this shit is still illegal.

Anyone that thinks it's because our government is out to protect us and keep us healthy is just plain naive.

Did you know if pot would be legalized It would pay off the national debt?I would feel a lot safer knowing that MS-13 aren't making drug hits and turning suburbs to slums.But I guess we can say fuck it.Lets continue spending billions of our tax dollars on a war that is failing.Personally I don't give a shit if drugs r going to ruin your life,it's your life.As a individual YOU make and take decision that will affect your life.The choice is yours,choose wisely.

By the way the war on drugs is BIG BUSINESS and the prison industrial complex is also.So do the math jackass!
