Excellent, good upload, Chomsky always talks sense and Riz is a pretty good interviewer.

chomsky is truly brilliant. most people in the USA can't even understand the basic concepts he discusses, which is sad, and quite an important thing to remember when trying to understand how we almost elected george w bush, and then sat idly by when he stole two elections.

chomsky points out quite lucidly that the "war on Tara" (as our president says it) is a farce. not to mention the US, under reagan, was DIRECTLY responsible for terrorism in the middle east...

Nothing really conclusive said in this interview that we all collectively don't already know.

Destroy Israel, problem solved. Not directly, what I mean is completely and totally stop subsidizing them, stop supporting them by donating modern war machine and arms, stop giving them billions annually, and let them stand on their own two feet.

Then watch the slaughter begin.....

wow how old is chomsky now? hasn't he been around forever and is in every psychology/behavioral science textbook in the world? he sounded a bit old though :s hope he's in good health. so many people who are involved in world/current events seem to be passing away :( james brown, pavoratti, steve irwin, uhh...i know a former president died last year? 2 years ago? dave fosset is probably dead, he's been missing over a month. man, i already forgot who else. ppl just seem to disappear off the face of the earth, all that they have done will eventually be forgotten in time. such is the way of the world. i'm thirsty. it's like 85 degrees in october, craziness.

I liked what he says about the 'aspects of a failed state.' Our US government has failed to represent us in nearly every major issue of concern. The officially polled collective will of the people of the US has been, and is still being, Ignored by the people who's salaries we pay out of every paycheck we receive.

And they are not even content receiving those monies from us. They disdain the paltry hundred-thousand plus salaries, and invest in the outcomes of international events, then guide the events with all the power we give them, becoming very rich.

The average american is not rich enough to stop doing their job or otherwise disrupt their daily schedule to 'take to the streets' and force some change. The average american is really just getting by, and has a family that will get hungry fast if they rock the only boat they have too much. The average american is stuck also on the problem, and not a solution - we don't know what to do, as Chomsky also pointed out. Our leadership is what betrayed us - but they're the leaders!! We need different leaders, but no one is quick to give that sort of trust, and those that are asking for it are not generally proposing real solutions.

No one wants to rock the boat. And while we wait, our own soldiers continue to die, surrounded by a death toll of nearly a million, last I saw.

This is the first program I've seen from Al Jazeera, and I'm impressed. It is, however, far too civilized to air in the US.

The thing is although this man makes very strong points, so many Americans are going to ignore them because they simply do not want to hear about or accept that their country has done some awful things and is not the action hero's they see themselves as from all the Hollywood movies.

Please, go read his books, they should be mandatory reading anywhere in the world. He also represents the good that is left in America, when you judge us, please think of men like him.

Fantastic upload, Chomsky was a pleasure to watch and listen to as usual.

It's nice to see an Interviewer give a guest such respect as Riz Khan did too. I couldn't help but think how different this interview would have been had O'Riely interviewed him instead.

last caller was really a moron by asking him to convert to islam, I mean wtf? Chomsky would have done that already if he wanted to and how would that made the caller feel better knowing that Chomsky is muslim? I'm happy he didn't scream allah akbar in the end of conversation.

Did you guys ever hear of Robert Anton Wilson? He passed away in January this year, he was one of the smartest/lucid/down to earth men alive, funny how I never saw anything about him here... I would upload but I always get an error for no apparent reason

I never heard of Noam Chomsky, but after watching this interview I have great respect for him and after he stated the honest truth about the situation in Palestine, despite the mainstream American attitude of backing Israel no-matter-what AND him being a Jew, I have even greater respect for him.
