If Americans think their populations suffered during WW2 (apart from the brave soldiers who fort and died) they should have tried living in London during the Blitz.

People don't change we'd all pull together again given the same circumstances.

Everyone involved in WW2 suffered, you can't measure that, if you try then your just a stupid douchebag.

One thing to remember about WW2 is that people tought that the amount of carnage seen would cull wars for century to come, too bad humankind doenst even learn from it worst mistakes.

I think what Echo dude is trying to say is we, the States, were spared direct bombing because of our geographic location. This is true.
The UK was bombed back to the stone age by the Luftwafa, and us here in the States have NEVER had to deal with anything like that.
I often wonder what would happen if a real enemy with aircraft carriers and bombers started toasting our cities, I wonder what would happen to all those dumb fucks that are worried about what Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are doing. It's something worth thinking about.

Britain was wartorn and bankrupted by WW2 as were most European countries - apart from France who surrendered about 2 minutes after they were invaded and got off lightly...

If it wasn't for the US financially proping up western Europe with the Marshal Plan (a covert plan to get the British to relinquish their Empire) the Comunists would have taken over and we'd all be drinking vodka and speaking Russian (the US included)

I'm sorry Echo, but you're completely wrong. America put itself into debt saving Europe. We were just beginning to open our arms to industrialism and to have a war right then was NOT what we needed which was one reason we didn't dive right in and declare war.

Russia was on our side sir...there's no way we would have let their Marshall Plan take effect. We came and helped stop the Germans and we would have done the same for that.

I am from Brest and our city was completely flatten too.
270,000 French civilians compared to 70,000 British civilians dead in WW2. You can kiss my grand-mother ass about your comment on France who surrendered.
Have a little respect. At least I do cause even if I disagree with most "American things" nowadays, they are the ones who came to help us. You can never take this away from them.

I have lived in many places and spoken with many people in America and I haven`t met a SINGLE person who thought that we were WITH the Nazis. I`m not saying he is a liar, because I`m sure in remote areas there are a few dumbasses, but even the DUMBEST kids in my school know the basics of WW2.
None the less, Echo, don`t give us that crap. Fine, you wanted us to stay OUT of ww2? Weren`t you sons of bitches BEGGING us to come help you in both world wars? Yea, I know lots of innocent people died in your country and that`s terrible, but we didn`t sacrifice our blood and treasure just to have some prick spit in our faces a few decades later.
