Just cut the tube of the stethoscope 1 or 2 inches from the diaphragm so you only need 1 microphone and it makes the whole thing a lot smaller.

So, to make a "high-tech" stethoscope for under $25 you need to buy a $10 stethoscope, two mics ($12), a Y-adapter and a MP3 player... hang on.
