This angers me. Kerry answers his question while the guy is being tasered, and the crowd cheers on when he's being "escorted" out. This is some disturbing shit right here.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.....BZZZZZZZZZZZZ

If they wanted to restrain him 2 guys and a pair of hancuffs would have been enough, they could have gotten him out without all the fuss, but since it america bigger is better so 6 cops and a taser is enough to stop a college student.

The ichy and scratchy show was right, thier motto should be "To protect and sever."

Can anyone deny that police and federal agents are anything more then the hired thugs of the government? 500 years ago these guys would have been members of the brute squad or the kings circle.

Thats fucking nuts, tazering some one for the simple fact that he was trying to ask a question that should have been asked. That is why i do not support our Goverment and am ashamed to be called a american.

Normally I'd be behind you guys all the way with this one. But there are a few facts that weren't mentioned in this video. First of all he had been causing problems before this (Problems = simple obnoxiousness) and had been warned before he had a chance to ask his questions. That's why the lady was ready for him when he started his rant. Secondly, he was bigger than every cop there (not his fault) and was asked to simply leave and let Kerry answer his question. Once he refused to sit down, after asking several questions, they began to forcibly remove him. You can see in the video that his handcuffs were not on. They were only able to get one hand in the cuffs so he was definatly fighting back. it was then that they tazered him after several warnings.

This is my home town and as much as I hate to say it (because i just hate cops) the police around here are not that bad. I've never heard of any other police brutality accounts in all my years here. If the guy would've asked his question and let the crowd think about his meanings than he wouldn't have had this problem. And the bigger issue about him being warned was that he knew exactly what he was doing. He went into this headlong. Good luck to him, but theres a better way of getting across a message.

^^^ thanks Sagespeed for the background, BUT...

Is there really a better way to get across the message? Seems like half of America will see how bad things are getting, after this stunt. That's pretty effective for a lowly student. Especially if this is exactly what he wants to communicate, which I suspect it is.

The guy has a big mouth, and annoys people, and has earned a reputation for being disruptive. This does reasonably explain why security were so touchy in the first place: it's not always that opressive for everyone. Good.

But let's get this straight:

- If they were worried about guns/violence, then they MUST have checked for weapons at the door.

- Did this guy have a specific history of violent behaviour? I don't think so. So what's the big deal? He might get loud and annoying, spoil the mood for a minute or two? Until he gets dragged out, and he will look like a jackass for it. Until such time, crowding him is a case of guilty until proven innocent.

- Even if they are worried about excessively disruptive behaviour, the cops could still wait quietly in the back, and step in only if someone actually gets WAY out of hand. Until then, I'm sure any able speaker should be able to handle an upstart, and it's at most maybe a minute or two of annoyance for everyone else.

- If his conduct is in clear violation of specific school policy / code, then he needs administrative, not criminal dicipline.

- Asking questions while immediately surrounded by armed police (for most anyone) is hardly "civil and open discourse". It's very chilling, intimidating. Even though the cops weren't doing it to everybody, they DID DO IT TO HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

This whole thing makes me wonder. Can't a speaker take care of him/her-self on stage for a minute? Don't politicians deserve to face a bit of the brunt of how they make us feel? If they did better work, then maybe we would be nicer back? The list goes on and on...

Props to the student for this gig. He got NATIONAL COVERAGE for the cause. Most are lucky to get $400 from Break.com for getting tazered. I admire his guts for being willing to push the envelope, get a little up in our faces.

"DON'T TAZE ME BRO!"

After he finished asking his questions and the rent-a-cops starting dragging him away Kerry even said, "That's alright, let me answer his question"

6 cops against 1 guy who was on the ground and handcuffed, then they chose to tazer him, what the hell?
