A completely different sound compared to their previous album! The new singer (i forget her name) has a very different vocal range. Makes me wonder if she'll be able to sing any of their old songs with the higher ranges.

I agree, Tarja gave a very unique sound to the band. The music remains Nightwish though but that is because the composers are the same. The name of the new singer is Anette Olzon. Let's just hope she does a good job.

You kiddin' me? This vocalist's faaaar better than the old one. At least with her they can add some DIVERSITY to their songs. I'm not saying the old one wasn't a good singer, she was a great singer actually, but her voice didn't go well at all with the sound.

Man I dunno. I love Nightwish but this is going to take sometime to get used to. Their sound is very different.
I think I'll stick with classic Nightwish and Within Temptation.

yeah, the old singer was a bit over the top, but i'd still rather have that than these watered down vocals. IMO (first time using "IMO") this would be better with an irish accent, you know with some celtic feeling.

I was going to post a live video a while ago but Tarja doesn't sing on time with the band live and made it sound a little wierd if you never heard the song before...But their CD's are awesome

lol at "particleman"! Opera and metal is VERY hard to do, the nightwish pioneered it, so don't dis what you don't understand.
i say if you can't appreciate musical talent like nightwish (regardless if you like it or not) then go back to your tight jeans, and pop culture music and stay there!

ParticleMan I hope you are being sarcastic because if you think FalloutCrap sounds better than Nightwish then you seriously need medical help. Nightwish is the greatest symphonic metal band in history and noone has quite been able to achieve what Nightwish has in terms of their music.

You are a just lost hope and don't deserve to live with tastes like that. I am sorry for being so harsh but I feel sorry for you.
