no seat alpha, it's called trials riding. they either use no seat, or a very tiny plastic seat. it helps cut weight and also gives them clearance to do their lurching and what not

Right, I've rode on a bike like that. The bike is very light and easy to control, but it takes good timing, coordination, and strength to be able to maneuver like that guy does.
