^^It's not the burning of oxygen that creates vacuum, it's the cooling of hot gasses, causing them to contract.

the bar trick of it is that u place a penny or any other sort of coin on the plate and pour the liquid on it and tell the person that u bet them that u can get the coin out without getting wet. then when the liquid gets sucked up into the glass u can then grab the coin.
