Angry Mob @ KNEW Protes Micheal Savage

August 15th, 2007 - Hundreds of angry demonstrators call for Michael Savage to be fired for saying that students on a hunger strike against US immigration policy should be left to starve. Using his post as a San Francisco Supervisor, Gerardo Sandoval worked up the Latino community into a fervor over the incident. This is footage from their protest outside of KNEW Studios in San Francisco.

Savage is a closet case whose ham-handed homophobia is a desperate (but useless) attempt to cover up the fact that he used to mess around with Allen Ginsberg.

I'm all for freedom of speech. But defending his freedom of speech is like defending the rights of someone to stand on a soapbox and fart in public.

Yeah, fine, if that's what you're into. But really, REALLY! there are so many more intelligent and worthwhile pursuits out there.

Savage is a waste of time and energy.

its not we are forcing people to listen to the radio lol...don't like it? turn the station or turn your radio off. I personally think protesters make a mockery of themselves and look like little children having hissy fits but thats just me.

Well didn't Voltaire say " I may not agree with what you say, but I would die to defend your right to say it"?
Obviously his comments were ignorant, but isn't censoring what he's saying going against what they're quoting as their right to protest? Isn't that hipocritical?
You see, this is the difficult part of freedom of speech. People seem to agree with the first ammendment only when what people are saying is in agreement with their own beliefs. Anything else is "hatespeech".
On one hand saying let the people on the VOlUNTEER hunger strike starve is ignorant and dismissive, but on the other hand, it IS their choice to do so, and we have personal responsibility, so starving yourself is your own choice and why should anyone make them eat?

Now to make this clear, I don't agree with what the tool on the radio said! But I don't nessesarily think it was that bad and don't think he should be censored for saying it. He has just as much a right to say stupid, ignorant crap as anyone else does. We just have to make our opinions heard as well, and not by some childish retarded hippie! Try talking to the guy in an open forum and make intelligent points without getting upset, and actually have a two way conversation. That's when you'll inspire a change.

It was not just a bunch of liberal kids fighting for CIR.

It was a bunch of undocumented kids fighting for the DREAM Act. Many of those kids were months old when brought to this country without their consent. Now, after going through public education, and knowing only one way of life - the American way of life, they simply would like to be able to get a job, further their education, and eventually one day become a citizen.

Those kids live terrible lives because they can't do anything a normal American teen could do.

The DREAM Act is NOT amnesty. Those kids are not law-breakers. The DREAM Act requires those kids to work for legal permanent residency over the course of 6 years, in which they must either enlist in the military, or go to college for 2 to 4 years.

This is what Savage stated. Despite the fact that I think he is an ass. He does have a right.

The beneficiaries of the DREAM Act will be the ones with high school diplomas, have come to the U.S. before the age of 16, have had "good moral character" and have lived continuously in the U.S. for more than 5 years. These are not the run of the mill dumb teenagers.

Take for instance Juan Gomez from Miami, Florida. He is a teen who graduated at the top of his class, scored a 1400 on his SAT, is facing deportation in a matter of weeks, and had to settle for a meager Communtiy College instead of an Ivy League.

He isn't the only storehouse of potential that the U.S. can tap into. Numerous other undocumented students who are just as bright, or even brighter, are waiting and hoping for a chance to live.

Please educate yourselves on the DREAM Act.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, AND UNDOCUMENTED STUDENTS.

DO NOT LUMP THEM IN THE SAME BOAT.
