people have been heating water in the summer with solar panels and actually have them hooked up to the household grid. I have a neighbor down the street that has 4 big panels(in ohio i might add the least sunshine state) and he claimes to save about 200-300 a year. The panels where prolly expensive for him but this video says that solar panels are cheap....so whats the deal GE?

That is great.
I've always wanted a device like that. One thing I've always wondered if was possible, was to have a solar/heat powered A/C unit, to place in a parked car in a hot area, so when you return to the vehicle, it's not super hot. I know they have solar powered fans for this, but I want an A/C unit :)
