I like the *idea* of a rapping reggae Chasid, but his stuff sounds just *a bit* stilted and stiff to me.

He needs to make "aliyah" and smoke some more 'ale yarok'.

There are a lot of black Jews, actually. When I lived in a town north of Tel Aviv, our neighbours were Ethiopian immigrants. There are a lot of them there. Also, when my oldest son was in kindergarten his best friend was a boy whose dad was Israeli and whose mom was Dutch-Surinamer; black Surinamer on one side; white Dutch Jew on the other.

Race mixing produces such wonderful combinations! We need more of it, especially in the Middle East.

And more pot, too...waaaay more pot...

If you're talking about east Asia (China, Japan) there was a community of Jews in Kaifeng China that was sorta famous (Chinese Jews! Who knew?!). I think they all intermarried / assimilated and essentially died out as a community. Some of their descendents survive, but they don't identify much as Jews. Their synagogue is gone but I saw a model of it at the Diaspora Museum in Tel Aviv. It looked like a typical Chinese temple.

There was a big Jewish community in India (the Sassoon family name is one that some people are familiar with). I think most of them have left India for Israel.

Iran / Persia had another big community of Asian Jews, but many people these days think of Iran more as 'middle eastern', not 'Asian'.
