Red, what you said at the end is why people use Windows. "A apple with a 256 MB of Ram and a 1.5 ghz Proc. is equivalent to a PC 384 MB of RAM 2.2 ghz. Simply put Apple owns hardware wise." Why have a slower PC with less ram and ghz proc when you can have a faster one? Sure you get errors but people just deal with them. Like me, I get a error I just say "Fuck it" and close it off. "Windows has 5 different word processing programs because none of them works hense the famous nerd/geek oxi-moron... Microsoft Works ...... apple does not need 5 different word programs."

Now for what you said about this, just becuase windows dosnt cram every single file they put along with the PC together dosnt make it worse. Some people find it easier, some people can FIND them easier instead of searching through all of the options, like File, Edit, etc. They broke it down for costomer benefits. Which is the second reason why people prefer get windows over apples. Also they look at Bill Gates and say "Hey, he is making money off of windows. It must be a good then" If Apple had more products or more comercials then maybe it would get noticed.

Now for your lession, before you try and get all 'this is what I think and the way it should be' hear me out. Compare the 2 products and find out why people prefer which ever one. Ask yourself "Well why did Windows break it up into 5 programs?" And then you wont need people like me solving little problems with thinking everyone is going to agree with you. No, just becuase you downloaded it dosnt mean you "mastered" windows. Ever think that Bill Gates might of compared it to Apples, maybe asked what people prefer in a product like this? Again no, you didnt. Im not saying you should switch to Windows, if you like Apples then stick with it. To sum it up, think before you speak.

Oh and Sevensinz, I just read your post. Very interesting, you know if you think there are backdoors or viruses on your computer then you can always buy the product, from the store. Im sure that dosnt have a backdoor and any viruses on it. Because I dont know to many people that stalk Windows trucks and switch them...do you? If you want to stop getting viruses and spyware and all that stuff, STOP DOWNLOADING LIMEWIRE OR KAZAA TO DOWNLOAD FILES. Get a REAL anti virus protecter, scan each file before downloading it. Its that easy. And to you their new media player might blow to you but to other people and I really dont know how many more but I am sure a lot it is great. I mean, I havent seen a Apples media player in the store in awhile.

Now for your lession, well you defended Apple in a way that had no use to it. You did a great job on your grammar. Oh and you said "and u can do anything with APPLE that u can do on WINDOWS" Okay whats your point? Yeah we already know windows is or "can" be as good as Apples but Windows give more options than Apples. Which is why a lot of people say Windows > Apples.

Im still thinking if I should bookmark this topic and see what you two have to say. We shall see...

You also siad something about comparing both products to each other. This paragraph is being written on a Apple Power Mac g5 Duel Processors 2.5 ghz each. Next to me sits my 2.5 ghz 1 gig ram Pentium 4. I use both computers interchangebly.

if you noticed when bill gates shows off something he says stuff about it but not a lot. he also repeats what he says as well. that is why the guy is rich, if he would say everything about it the pros and cons i think there would of been a new company with something better right now. Okay and second, comparing the products you have inside of your computer is different. Not everything is the same. Thats what I was pointing out, why would you want something to get something that is crappier than what you can get for the same price if not cheaper? Makes no sense, oh and btw. I mispelled 'Lesson' maybe a few more. But if you want to go all "hypocrite" on me about my spelling then please point out my 1-10 mistakes in a 1 page. I can't believe something like this got so many comments. Someone obviously posted this because it's humorous how much technology has advanced. In fifteen years you'll be laughing off what the PS3 can do.

To the topic of debate: Windows versus Mac!

First off, redhatlx9, you poorly presented an unthought debate. There is a reason there are both manual and automatic transmissions. Manual transmissions allow you to do things automatics do not. You aren't going to go out and build your own Macintosh. Which, by the way, you cannot compare store-bought PCs to ones you made on your own. My mother's Dell has problems out the bung-hole. My PC runs fine. I assembled mine.

Macintosh CANNOT compete against Microsoft, so the people in this thread saying they can: stop. Microsoft is the biggest computer company in the world(next to IBM). They would put Macintosh under if the presented any kind of a commercial challenge to them. Look at Netscape, and any other company that stood up to the corporate giant.

Also, Windows has three word programs, not because they dont work, but because each serves it's own purpose. MSWord has anything you could want out of a word program, and more things you don't care about. Wordpad is a general formatting program, and Notepad is an ASCII-only editing program usually used to edit config files and such. Macs have problems too, they are just SEVERELY LIMITED. Not only in the problems, but in what they can newly present. They effectively limited their problems but also effectively limited what customers can do with the machine.

All in all: If your going to use a computer for general use -- it's a safe choice either way(Unless your computer illiterate, then go with Mac).

If your going to be doing graphic or video editing, go with Mac.

Gaming, or other very cutting-edge software -- PC.

in my opinion, it's the user that causes errors most of the time. bad maintenance, over multi-tasking etc.

any OS if used properly should be without any problems, only difference would be the reasons for using the OS. for a MAC, multimedia, and for microsoft, all rounded entertainment.

In my opinion Apple is a whole lot better than microsoft. I've used windows and mac os. If you try to run anything on windows it crashes. It's rediculous. I've ha d reformat my windows machine a countless number of times, and I'm no newb at computers. I've taken god knows how many classes, from cisco networking to A+ Repair, so I know what I'm talking about. Apple computers on the other hand I've had absolutely no problem with. The programs run fine. Even on my old apples from 10 years back. I guarantee if any of you so called windows lovers where to switch to a mac os you would never go back. Again this is my opinion so all you bill gates fanyboys calm down.

no, Macs are terrible. Idiot. Maybe back in the fucking stone age they kicked the shit out of anything else, but its 2005 now, and nostalgia just doesnt apply. You see anyone doing anything awesome (besides Garage Band) on a mac nowadays? hell no.
