A lot of hospitals have still and motion capture devices handy for cases just like this. My wife works ER and I can't tell you how many times they recorded shit that should be in Faces of Death.

It looks like a mortar wound...I'm no linguistics expert, but it sounded like they were speaking a mid east dialect. He could also be unconscious from the wound...the shock would keep his eyes open even though he can't really see because he's in limbo.
