My father always educated me on certain affairs of World War II because he has always been an avid reader of books published about the war. I've followed his lead and am also very interested in the subject as a whole.

It's sad that even still, a lot of Japan don't know what really happened. Great upload and hopefully this movement keeps rolling to inform people about what really happened.

That said, it's also the past. I think there's more active problems that need solving.

I think this documentary was more about the cover-up instead of the specific atrocities committed by Unit 731, which would probably be too gruesome and graphic for alot of the viewers. However clips like this still raises great awareness for people who are interested in the truth.

What I am about to say is grossly politically incorrect however, These experiments and the cover up was absolutely necessary. Using the raw data collected from this excercise we have made incredible leaps and bounds in medical science and a truely intimate understanding of the human body. The reason the cover up and exchange was necessary is without that data the western world would have never advanced as far as it did with it's sciences and medicine. Certainly the mannerisms in which the research was carried was grotesque and inhumane, but I'm afraid we are a species devoid of civility and compassion. Out of the countless tradgedies that have been inflicted in history, at least the future generations benefit from the death camps if not from the miracles made possible in medicine, then the ultimate example of evil. I'm not supportive of what happened by any stretch of the imagination, and the end doesn't justify the means. But what happened, happened, at the very least we can make some good from it, as well as prevent such events from occurring again.

dopefiend, you said "These experiments and the cover up was absolutely necessary" as is it's okay that they've done these experiements because they advanced science. Alot of people can kill millions and advance science as well. Should we just start killing people? how about your family?

You said that "the end doesn't justify the means," which contradicts your initial argument. If you believe that the end doesn't justify the means, you should have advocated that the war criminals be prosecuted, and the actions of the japanese exposed at the risk of losing the data. Based on your argument, you believe that the end DOES justify the means.
