more to the point, since we agree that no one is perfect, perhaps we should keep that in mind when we hear "moral crusaders" like former senator craig, former reverend bakker, former reverend swaggert, former congressman foley, and other such "pillars of morality" condemn others.

the people yelling the loudest about their stands on "moral" issues should be the most suspect.

Not to defend Craig (as most folks here know, I'm with D! on this one - the crusaders, inquisitors, fag-bashers, pedo-hunters and witch-burners are usually closet afficianados of all the things they love to hate) but listening to a lying politician and a (dirty?) cop, I'm hard-pressed to say who's telling the "truth".

you're putting words in my mouth again. that's proobably why you're confused. let me help you.

When people are homophobic, especially militantly homophobic, chances are they have some gay tendencies themselves, as this well known scientific study demonstrates: http://www.oogachaga.com/downloads/homophobia_and_homosexual_arousal.pdf

Similarly, when people speak out against adultery very vociferously, chances are that they do, or really want to, engage in adultery. I guess you've never taken psychology 101, but very often when people take up silly little sexual "Crusades" like this, and invest all this energy in it, it's a safe bet that many of them are themselves engaging in said activity (or really, really want to).

You may not see the obvious point here, jareardy, so I'll spell it out for you- it would be much better for everyone involved if men who want to suck dicks could just say so, get it over with, stay out of public bathrooms, and for gawd's sake, stop going around trying to pass as a straight man, and even worse, stop trying to pass legislation that hurts gay men.

Your stupid religious sexual prohibitions create a situation in which people feel forced to be hypocrites, and single out groups that do the same things they want to do (or actually do) as "evil," etc., when really, if being gay isnt hurting anyone, it's nobody's fucking business but their own.

So my point is that consensual sex between adults is not the government's business, and if you religious wackos want to be against it in one form or another, do it on sunday in your own time, not in our state and federal legislatures. Either way, we know that you are probably propping yourself up as "righteous" while secretly jealous of the "degenerates" whose freedom and pleasure and happiness you try to restrict to try to make us as nmiserable as you are.

No, whats hopeless is the fact that as time goes on it becomes more and more fashionable to bash christians and label them as hate mongers when some of leaders of christian sects make mistakes. What you have to do is look at the doctrine they teach, is it in line with what the bible says? If not, as in the case of the westboro baptist church then they are not actual christians.

I am looking at the doctrine they teach- it's sadistic. We wouldnt have people slinking around in bathrooms if you people didn't make homosexuality so "shameful" and "scandalous" and "sinful." The doctrines they teach are what allows priests to fuck little boys and get away with it, stops teens from getting birth control, stops people from getting life saving cures, causes people to feel ashamed of their bodies and their normal sexual desires, and well, hell, in general the doctrines just makes things worse. larry craig and his ilk are simply the product of this hypocrisy that tries to make natural human functions like sex "Shameful."

oh, and what the hell is not christian about the westboro baptist church? they are following the bible's edicts against homosexuality, and following it to a conclusion you may not like- that gawd punishes us for allowing sin- but it certainly isn't buddhist or satanist or atheist. it's just as christian as praying to gawd, burning a witch, or feeling horribly guilty and asking for forgiveness for having a sexual thought.

okay, never does the bible say to be ashamed of your body it actually says your body is your temple and you should take care of it accordingly.

Homosexuality is wrong, where the westboro people are wrong is that the bible does not say that you hate them because of it. They preach that god hates them and that is not the case. If they get something that fundamental wrong then they are not following the bible. Sin is sin and god sees it all the same, but that does not mean that you hate anybody for it, because as the bible says remove the log from your own eye before you try to take the splinter from someone else's eye.

Priests do NOT get away with molesting little boys, if the catholic church wants to protect them then they should be held accountable as an organization. Thats something that needs to be prosecuted.
