I am not sure about this particular picture, but it looks like an old Excorsim kit. the spikes would have been to "pin" the victim and create a stigmata. there would be a small box of needles, a bible, holy water, blessed rags, and usually some cords. I do not see the gag though. I think I remember some of the kits had a wooden mouth bit to stop the victim from biting the preist.

Ah, the good old witch hunts and excorisms, we`ve come a long wa-.......who the hell am I kidding? the US just opened the creationism museum. I am suprised these kits aren`t available at Wal-mart.
