*YAWN* I've been playing shooters on the PC for years. I just don't see what all the buzz is about with Halo 3. Looks like the same crap. And the map editor? So what?

Garry's Mod anyone? With wire mod? and PHX models?

Welcome to building and creating virtually anything you want. Up to and including devices and machines that have basic forms of intelligence if your savvy (Turrets that have been wired up to auto-track players and kill them, is a popular example).

Skies the limit. And all it costs you is $10 off of steam...

And it seems like consoles are 2 years old on the innovation front =(

Warhawk is good fun though (resistance I didn't like).

Consoles are purely for accessibility, and ease of use. There is no person playing consoles that is trying to create friction with PC gamers... the PC gamers love to talk shit about consoles though.

I been playing PC games since I was 10 (25 now), and I've been playing console since I was 17. Are PC better for innovation and flexability? Yes. Are consoles better for reaching a broader audience, and just have shit and giggles fun? Of course. Do fanboys exist on both fronts? You betcha.

Who really gives a shit though? It's VIDEO GAMES. It's supposed to be about fun for YOU... not what you think is fun for me, or the next man. FPS' are lacking in innovation in general no-a-days. You've played a few... you've played them all. Choose your genre and have fun with it, but why be a snob about it?

I have been playing pc games since the days of monochrome screens and my 80/86 computer. Been playing console games since the atari 2600. Bungie didn't build the wheel. They just improved their design of it.

Do I really care about halo 3? I might if I owned a 360.

That isn't a map editor, Hammer is a map editor, that thing is just a server admin's toy and completely stupid and useless to be honest. Just...like....consoles.

^^^ Garry's Mod, bro lol. And I'm sure there are others that I can't think of.

In Gmod, we used to play something called "WoodWars" (yes you can invent games within the game, on the fly, without limits).

We would build cars and planes(and boats) out of destructible materials and put various weapons and the like on them. Then we would have battles and see who would win out. Towards the end we were getting really technical about it with damage numbers and building standards for the vehicles.

Hell, I had a system on one of my nicer vehicles that could attach a target beacon to an enemy vehicle, then I would launch one of my seeking missiles from the corner of the map to go and blow the poor bastard to pieces (I was pretty handy with guided missile construction).

I had cool ones that would climb to a certain altitude, cut it engines, nose down, engage the guided system and fly into it's target (top-down attack style).

Skies the limit... May have to load the game back up again and get all the mods for it.

With forge you can invent games within the game on the fly...
every console generation is getting closer to doing what the computer does with modding (or DLC in xbox's case) and whatnot.But people like to be blinded by fanboyism while their can never be a better gaming system than another as its all preference with pro's and con's to each respective system.
