^ I like the Einstein quote. Buddhism is essentially athesitic, both rational and mystical, it seeks a balance between the empirical and the intuitive. There is a lot to admire about it - more so than Judeo-Christianity-Islam. Among any of the major religions, I think Buddhism has the most redeeming qualities, if for no other reason than the fact that it has never claimed to have exclusive rights on 'The Truth'.

its crazy i saw this since me and and another student from my kung fu school (metallicus) just decided in possibly going to train with our sifu's shaolin teacher in china in about a year. only thing is, we need to train just to be in shape to train. thats why im starting early

Chinese Buddhism is somewhat different to how the western world and India view Buddhism, they have Bodhisvattas who stay behind in this world to help people ascend and a very extensive mythology in relation to the heavens and earth it's not particularly athiestic.

larusso_stomper that would be an excellent experience.
You should check out shaolin journey on youtube. A group of friends went to shaolin to train kung fu and video taped it. It is very well.

I'm off to train with the Shaolin in their Yantai temple in April 2008. I'll film and upload to spiked.

As for this guy being a sellout, I wouldn't say that. The whole essence of martial art in the eyes of the shaolin is the expansion and sharing of knowledge, its not some exclusive club.
