I don't understand live techno shows. I like the music and all, but it's not something that should be done live. After bobbing his head for 8 beats, he might press a button. Epic.

Most of the stuff they play they make up on the spot, which is what makes them good. But if you become famous like Tiesto people wanna hear songs hes famous for. So he usually dosent even mix the stuff at the concerts anymore :(

A DJ mixes pre-made music in various formats.

A DJ's job is to produce NON-STOP music for the audience. The DJ takes tracks and cues them up to the current track, then mixes them for a flawless mix of endless music.

Well..it ends when we get tired.

I only use vinyl records, but DJs can use any format of music to mix with. The point, usually in trance, is to keep a smooth, endless beat.

If you get into drum and bass, you'll see true DJ form...

Please don't vote this down because you don't understand...this mini-set is awesome...

god you guys are dumb, DJs dont create music on the spot, nor do they just press play. Its about beatmatching and transferring between tracks at the right time. Beatmatching is not easy, and knowing when to drop the track takes some skill too. Through transferring, the Dj can change the highs, mids and lows of the track to blend the tracks however they feel is right. DJing is not super easy, it takes some skill, and only good DJs know how to work a crowd. BTW I play guitar and I DJ, and I feel that its easier to play guitar with a band live than to mix a whole set live and have it sound really good.
