Holy smokes that was rad. Blue Devils are totally cool.
It actually made me miss being in the high school marching band way back in the day. Our drumline was the best in our area.

are there really schools out there that survive on grant money for their drumline teams? like in that one movie? in the movie those schools were depicted as all black though. this team in the vid is diverse. eh, i dunno anything, is blue smoke a school team?

You have to pay money join a drum corps, such as the blue devils. It's not a school team. It's the best drummer's and they all compete and DCI (drum corps international).

The precision is just mind blowing!

I think what impressed me the most was the incredibly long pause in the middle. That is unbelievably hard to do, and they started again with utmost precision.

Reminds me of an experiment in band class we did; everyone was to count to 5 in their heads, and play a quarter note. It went pretty well. But then he gradually spread it out all the way to 30 seconds, and we steadily became less and less precise, where at 30 seconds, it was just pitiful.

Damn fine i must say. The precision the drummers have, makes them look almost robotic...

I should have stuck with drums :S my sets still in the garage.... I think i'll make some noise this weekend.
