SpecOps Technique - Restraint

Apparently this is used by special forces to restrain a prisoner without the use of any equipment, other than what is available naturally - a tree. Pretty cool.

umm so this is completely useless to anyone who can lift their own body weight by simply sliding up on the pole??...seems kinda iffy to me.

"They may try to throw themselves backwards, this can kill them" wtf. So after 20 minutes in this position you are stuck there and the only way to get out is to have someone help u or to die. Seems a little extreme as far as restraints go.
Just goes to show you how the human body can be it's own worst enemy.

Jile - it works! It's impossible to obtain leverage on your back foot whilst compressed by your bodyweight. Additionally, unless your legs were made of jelly, you wouldn't be able to life yourself up without support as your body cannot naturally flex to that position.

Yeah, this works. They teached this in the finnish military, it's called "sissilukko" in here. It's impossible to get out of it without help.

But that dying bit is a bit exaggerated. You may spasm and maybe dislocate your leg, but if it happens, you're free. :)
