I hope by this time in the future (if humanity makes it) people will abandon religion.

you know in the 70s, people were predicting by the 21st century, we would have flying cars and mini projectors in our car. guess what happened?

^lol I agree with you on that. This video is completely absurd. To think that a child would be able to hack and takeover an entire city with a virus is not only completely ridiculous, it is also very implausable.

If we were to ever reach the technological level that is depicted in this video, the city would have redundancy programs that would take over in the event of a failure, breakdown, etc. That is, assuming by then it is even possible to create computer viruses.

It is more logical to presume that at that level of technology, computer viruses would be impossible as the software would have a much higher level of virus protection and such that would make it impossible to alter it without specific steps and authorization from human input. Difficult to say exactly what I want to say, but I hope you all get the picture.

On the other hand, it is also possible that this kind of a future will never happen. It will take humanity to work peacefully together to ever get a society running smoothly without any kinds of problems. So unless people stop fighting amongst one another over mundane things, we won't have a future at all, let alone a technological one like this.

One thing I find strange about "the future", we can make robots that are ridiculously smart and all knowing, yet we cant make a program that can fix itself if infected by a virus.

Also I find it hard to believe that mankind will die before this can happen. Lets just think about what the problems are now.
1. Biological Viruses/plauges
2. Nukes
3. Pollution
4. Global Warming

Problem #1 can be solved with medicine and even if you take a look at some of the deadliest viruses there are always survivors, there are even people who are immune to AIDS.

Problem #2 will probably not happen since it would require too many nukes to fire at once. Sure if America and Russia were to engage in a nuclear war then we would die, but the chances of nuking from both sides are slim. I mean if you KNOW that the other side has an arsenal of nukes, why the hell would you start firing at them with nukes? Only a retarded christian from the 14th century would do something like that.

Problem #3 is something that will probably kill ALOT of people but when we will get to a point were no one will pollute anymore simply because they know what happends. When we get to that point the Earth WILL restore the balance over time. 65 million years ago a giant asteroid hit earth and today we hardly see any evidence of it ever happening. We will suffer alot but wont die.

Problem #4 will make the ocean's rise, deserts grow and people to migrate in an insane scale. This is also kill ALOT of people, illness will spread like wildfire in the refuge camps and people will fight like crazy for tiny bits of land that arent very nutritious or beautiful. However the chances of a full scale nuclear war, a killer virus, pollution happening that reduced the human population to zero is very unlikely since there are people that wont be effected and will live on.

This video is however very...stupid with the side story and all but much of what they say are true, just that it wont happen all at once, something BETTER will come along or will take more power than we will have at that time.

Never trust anyone that says "In 30 years we will be THIS far in technology", they are probably wrong. Trust the guy that says "In the next 2 years we'll probably see some new ways to deal with todays problems."

Most ideas are just theoretical and will probably not happen. Like the design...I mean...whats fun with round things with glass all over them? Fucking IKEA taking over...

Robots create New problems, although Theoretical they are quite believable.

If you give a Robot an AI of a Human.
Then he will act Human.

Humans have EGO, humans can reason that an Inferior being should not control them, but a robot should. (Reasoning).

So should one program an inferiority complex in a Human Ai for Robots? Or will that be over-ridden by the learning process?

Basically Robots also create the War Problem!
First Technological advances are always snatched up by the military first. In WW2 they had computers, Encrypting devices such as the ENIGMA machine.
So we'd get some sort of Super Robot channeling destructive energy into our buildings, hence building a superior more powerful bot. ( I mean how hard will it be in 2057 to absorb base energy from the environment and channel it into destructive energy through nano Particle accelerators ).
No more nuclear problem, we've got a bunch of WarBots channeling destruction at the click of a button.

And what about Work Force?
You could easily create the Robot monopoly, Buy 5 robots. 3 for work, 2 for house work and what do you do?

Drink, smoke and have sex all day, with nothing to do one would only fall into vice and decadence.
Sounds like fun? Not really. I'd rather work and earn my keep, than make my robots work for me while I take a shit.

Robots are bad buisness if you give them Human AI.

Its like an Alien species lands on the Earth, and you tell them be my slave and they rip u to shreds..

Basically, Predictions should be there, but it doesn't mean we should implement it all.

And what kind of a surname is Gator ?

This tv program didn't take it far enough. the future is going to be far weirder than they think it will be. In 50 years technology will have changed so drastically, it's hard to imagine. Nano-technology, Organic LED's, Computer chips with 1000 times smarter than the human brain. Longer lives (for some) by a factor of 2...we are approaching singularity. Future shock will happen.

Anyway this show is gay. One kid working for 2 minutes crashed the whole city...A completely interactive software program might not be too far off, but that would be a big leap of faith

I doubt ANYTHING in that video would be a reality by the year 2057, not the flying cars, not the holograms, none.

I agree. If you look back even 5 years ago at the future documentaries, you'll note that a lot of them have already been debunked.
