yea... every cig does you DMG... but guess what... the ppl hooked on it dont care about it.. trust me my whole family smokes and i have told them to quit.. they do for a week or so and start up again... W/E they know what they are doing and they dont care

this is an older ad campaign by the Australian (NSW?) government.

the new one where they compare current healthy smokers with really sick smokers is quite shocking too.
healthy: "i could get hit by a bus"
sick: "i feel like i've been run over by a truck"
h: "i'll quit next month"
s: "they say he's got more like weeks than months"
h: "sorry, i can't quit"

yeah for a long time the ads in the states were mostly making smokers like evil people many got offended because come on we have friends and family that smoke it does not make them evil, so they focused on showing that tobacco companies are evil. go figure i think just the price of a pack would make people not even try it now, i know its more expensive in the uk than here in the states.

i remember when they released the eye damage ad and I saw a news piece on it and it was drawing a long bow coz they tested a lot of old people 60's+ and found that out of all the people who had some eye condition more smoked than didn't! No mention was made about this eye condition in non-smokers, or that old people naturally have eye problems and old people smoked becoz it was the thing to do.
Not saying that smoking doesn't cause damage, but the "facts" in these ads are more scare propaganda funded by the Quit (anti-smoking) campaign. If you see one of these ads on TV, pay attention to the following ad(s) and at least when I was last in Oz, it was always followed by a Quit ad...and occasionally a Nicorette gum ad.

Before I start on how out there that sounds, gonna have to look into it and have a think...eg. is smoking in my genes!? Does that big fucking smoking bus that came up the road in the ad before also damage one cell!?

it makes me sick how in all the latest movies there is at least 5 smoking scenes, and it makes me sick how all the kids at school do it even though they hate it, i understand why smokers smoke becasue their addicted, but i dont get what attracts a teenager to the nasty, head aching smell that a cigerette gives, a girl that smokes is such a turn off, i dont know how some people kiss smokers.

^ It doesn't release the stress. I thought the same and while you smoke you feel relaxed. But right after it your blood pressure is still high and your stress-level is even higher than it was...

So you smoke another one to kill that stress. etc. etc.

The thing is, we trick ourself into believing we can't live without it. That we need the nicotine to feel good and relaxed. So we don't quit.

But you've felt just as good and probably even better when you didn't smoke.
When you quit a week you'll notice you don't miss it anymore.
But for the rest of your life you'll feel temptation to have one again, just 1. Wich in reality hardly ever really works.

I should quit forever, megh...

Ok personally, I'm against smoking, but *shrug*. The only thing i have to say about this video, is that LIGHTING YOUR DAMN CIG ON THE STOVE IS ASKING TO FUCKIGN DIE.....

even if this is propaganda to stop smoking it's in your benefit to stop anyways. If I could find a solid reason to counter this I would but for the most part cigarettes, do a lot of damage to all organs. Some people are born with a better deck of cards (genetically) so it's up to you to make a choice like that.

numnums is right; but it is 4 cigarettes not 5 and that because cigarettes have filters but pot has around 200 chemicals in it besides the THC, but if your growing your own stash; hey keep on toking. because thats not accelerated high, but cigarettes have nicotine which makes it super addictive. This can go on all day.

Live your life do what you want, and enjoy it. thats all I have to say.

I used to go on missions to get rid of all the lighters and smokes my mom had in the house.
They beat me up everytime i do it, but i did it anyways because the life of a love one was priceless.

But at my 16th birthday i asked my parents to quit smoking as my birthday gift. So they did. Shoulda wished for that earlier but because of that damned atari i always wanted.

Smokers who quit end up smoking again, some turn to prescription drugs to help them kick the habit, but what good are drugs, anti-smoking commercials, and the patch if the user isn't willing to give it up.

Really to rid the problem stop it at the source, tobacco companies, shut them down, and you've stopped a major part of the problem.

What's even worse, a lot of smokers are drinkers, so heavy smoking and drinking, boy aren't you asking to cut your life short?
