wut the hell this totally sucks im giving it a 1 because i've never been so disappointed. What were the reasons? They didn't make it clear at all. just some guy trying to be cool. Linux sucks i can only download 10 kibs with it. It's nice how things feel the way they run, but the linux feels like a 1 second delay for everything. it's not fun n u gotta know how it works.

Strange how Im posting from linux, while downloading a file at over 800k. I also have my server set up sharing 80k upload speed and over 500k download speed right now. If more people knew how windows works there would be whole lot less windows issues too lol.

Somehow Linux doesn't hit my vibe. I've tried SuSe, Slack and Mandrake (yeah, Mandriva sounds stupid) and none really appealed to me. Sure, they were fast, stable and fairly easy to use once you've gotten it all installed (gotta love live CDs), but it just doesn't flow like OS X or even Windows. As a server or on some exotic hardware: hell yeah. As a work machine for more than just OpenOffice and Firefox: naw, not for me.

the reason i changed was i hated spending half the time i was on the computer scanning for/killing viruses/malware/spyware and the constant rebooting required. And the blue screen of death!

I have Windows XP and Linux. I personally miss the old Amiga's, used to have 2 Amiga 500's, 3 or 4 2000's and an Amiga 3000 Tower. Now, I just have an Amiga 1200 that I bought from a friend, stuffed away in a box. Been planning on dusting it off and networking it to my PC. I've heard that the new Amiga OS is meant to run in Linux, but I don't really keep up anymore. I can run Amiga Forever (great program, if you're an Amiga buff) on Windows and run all those great old games and paint programs (Deluxe Paint, Personal Paint, etc.) that made the computer so wonderful. The thing that amazes me, though is how much Public Domain support there still is for these computers. Just check Aminet. As far as Linux goes, I want to like it (I think I'm a bit tired of all the Windows errors. Have a bit of a Love/Hate relationship with Windows. Love all the programs, Hate the instability), but I haven't gotten used to it yet.
