The only reason I promote videos is because I want the best non-TV videos on the front page. What's the point in delaying its promotion when it is clearly going to make it to the main page anyway.

90% of Spiked's users only visit the front page and not the public uploads.

Therefore the best stuff MUST be on the front page.

We need to give off a good impression to our visitors..so they'll return again. ;)

front page guidlines are pretty well defined. the ordinary user is what makes a vid front page worthy by voting according to their opinion of what is "best". the admin is bound to be objective armed with only their "vp" to affect the vid's rating and in turn it's front page worthiness. the score at 100 votes should be the only front page factor.
