Imagine sailing across the world, going to unknown lands, raping, destroying, conquering, murdering native indeginous people across the land all in the name of god and kingdom.

Then having the absolute balls to say you discovered that land and were the first person to walk it.

Actually some would say that Admiral Zhang was the first foreigner to land on North America and that it was through word of mouth from Arab traders in the Med Sea that Colombus found out that there was land on the other side of the Atlantic. Also there's still the thought of the Vikings being in the nothern parts of the continent before him to.
