If you look at the earth from a certain perspective, no place is safe. The american coasts are ravaged by hurricanes, (earthquakes for the west coast).Midwest has tornados and hail the size of volleyballs.The south has flooding, and i'm not even going to mention many freak accidents that occur (unnateral weather, freak accidents, etc.)
sometimes living in denial is the best answer,but precautions still have to be taken not to get killed or lose everything.
