well im partial on that because on one hand if they put stickers in science text books i believe that to be fair but on the otehr hand it depends in which context the book is being used if its being used in a church then their are well within their own right to view it sticker free but when its is being used in places such as schools the yes i would support the addition of the sticker along with the same line they placed on science text books in some states allbeit modified "This book is based purley on theory and cannot be proven and should be considered critically"

@gaffski. your talking about a picture of the bible you find offensive right? if not, think about what you find offensive; a sticker on a bible? does it change your beleifs because there is a sticker on the front? beleive what you want, i beleive what i want, the wolf can beleive what he wants. why? free country. Or so we think?

So if the bible has this warning so should the following sacred texts:
Quran
Book of Mormon
Bhagavad Gita
Rig Veda
Guru Granth Sahib
Upandishads
Lotus
Torah
and the hundreds of other sacred texts from all religions...
This group was trying to make Christianity the exception. We should be logical and apply this to any and all religions if we were to do it at all.

Wow. If you went to hell based on blasphemy, you guys would be well on your way.

Incidentally, most of the sticker applies to dogmas of the Catholic RELIGION (which, as we've covered before, has nothing whatsoever to do with the Christian FAITH) which has been killing "in Jesus' name" since Constantine.

And yes, you're right. If a sticker can kill your faith, it must not have been very strong to begin with.

tha_help,

This picture is a joking reference to a very specific attempt by Christians in America to have warning labels in science text books. It is not at all attempting to separate Christianity from other religions.

In answer to your question,
If this were not a joke, then yes all religions should be treated equally. The first warning would apply to all religions that claimed unprovable truths, and the second and third warnings would apply to all texts that contained those elements listed.
But again, it is a joke poking fun at a creationist attempt to censor science :)

Tolerance is a good cornerstone on which to build human relationships.

When one views the slaughter and suffering caused by religious intolerance throughout all the history of man and into modern times, one can see that intolerance is a very non-survival activity.

Religious tolerance does not mean one cannot express his own beliefs.

It does mean that seeking to undermine or attack the religious faith and beliefs of another has always been a short road to trouble.

Philosophers since the time of ancient Greece have disputed with one another about the nature of God, man and the universe.

The opinions of authorities ebb and flow.

Just now the philosophies of "mechanism" and "materialism" are the fad: they seek to assert that all is matter and overlook that, neat as their explanations of evolution may be, they still do not rule out additional factors that might be at work, that might be merely using such things as evolution.

They are, today, the "official" philosophies and are even taught in schools.

They have their own zealots who attack the beliefs and religions of others: the results can be intolerance and contention.

If all the brightest minds since the fifth century B.C. or before have never been able to agree on the subject of religion or anti-religion, it is an arena of combat between people that one would do well to stay out of.

In this sea of contention, one bright principle has emerged: the right to believe as one chooses.

"Faith" and "belief" do not necessarily surrender to logic; they cannot even be declared to be illogical.
They can be things quite apart.

Any advice one might give another on the subject is safest when it simply asserts the right to believe as one chooses.

One is at liberty to hold up his own beliefs for acceptance.

One is at risk when he seeks to assault the beliefs of others, much more so when he attacks and seeks to harm others because of their religious convictions.

Man, since the dawn of the species, has taken great consolation and joy in his religions.

Even the "mechanist" and "materialist" of today sound much like the priests of old as they spread their dogma.

Men without faith are a pretty sorry lot.
They can even be given something to have faith in.
But when they have religious beliefs, respect them.

Well guys... I thought this was the sticker the FFRF thought up for bibles... I looked it up and this is the link for the FFRF Bible Warning sticker...

http://www.ffrf.org/shop/products/details.php?cat=edstickers&
ID=ST1

And if we were to single out some good examples for killing in the name of religion... We can definitely go back as far as the Pagans and the Arians. Many of these people not only killed to convert, but also killed for sacrifice to their Gods. Death has been part of religion for a long time. There are many other examples I will not go in to.

Actually, I was surprised that I got positive votes on my comment... Trully expected it to be burnt.

^ Again,
this joke sticker is not suggesting that the Bible is the only violent part of all religions. Your point is moot.
