can't imagine rowing across a river under artillery and machinegun fire, and then jumping out running across open grass being shot at and trying to shoot back at the same time, trying not to die.

The beauty of this movie was in it's innaccuracy.....

It was actually the Canadian Forces who were the primary army in the Netherlands for the Allies during WW2. And it was the Austrians who were the primary force for the Axis...

Kinda funny how hollywood missed that point eh?

And how ironic is it that Bush passed a directive calling for US forces to invade the Netherlands if an American serviceman is ever brought to The Hague on war crimes charges.

Hmmm, yet another similarity between Bush and Hitler: an idea to invade Holland. Oh, that and the fact that they're both FASCISTS!

Canada! Please save us once again! But this time, invade the fascist dictatorship *before* it occupies Holland.

@entheogen - Aren't you getting confused with something else? The Canadians did officially liberate the Netherlands on May 5th 1945, but the clip refers to Operation Market Garden, which involved the Americans, British and Polish. Two sources here:

Don't know where you got the idea of lots of Austrians in the Netherlands from?

I got the idea of the Austrians in the Netherlands cause they were the ones who were the occupying army. The Germans were busy in France and Russia...
