Well there might be some truth to "ok kids out of the pool, I see lightning", not to mention having to deal with the whole air tank exploding thing. Im surpised he got hit and not the boat... i guess path of least resistance was not on his side!

i really dont think the thunderstorming came out of no where... so with all due respect...if anyone is... he was asking for it,

(with a metal air tank attached to his back...as well as metal weights around his waist...)
im sure he's dove in conditions like this before but what was he thinking?

I live in south florida and this isn't an unusual event. More often it's swimmers who get struck. Going anywhere near the coastline is just asking to become a human lighning rod.

Storms do pretty much just come out of nowhere in Florida. If he was underwater when it happened, he would not have known. Also, there have been lightening strikes on people who were no where near the storm. When I lived there back in 91 someone got struck in Dayton Beach. He was over 5 miles from where the storm was passing.

Well salt water conducts electricity MUCH better than fresh water... I didn't hear anything about the tank exploding... with the pressure in one of those tanks I doubt they'd even HAVE a body to examine.
