When the fuck will fundamental Athiests get the clue that they are just as annoying as fundamental Christians?

we're well aware that it is annoying, and that we piss people off, mostly religious types of course. I'm annoyed that i have to debate about it, the very subject is ludicrous and we shouldn't have to, but we are forced to in order to attempt to counter act the plague that is so very rampant in our world.

why are people so hell bent on proving religions wrong? i agree with EckJerome, it's getting just as bad and sometimes worse than religious fanatics.

Question for akballow (poster)-

Is there such thing as Good?

Is there such thing as Cold?

Is there Such thing as Dark?

Answer to all of the above is "No"

Good can only be seen when there is the lack of good in the world, we like to define it as evil.

You cannot measure cold, but only measure how Warm somthing is.

Finally darkness is just the lack of light, you cant measure dark but insted only light.

So when you, the bible, or any other source refers to people being rewarded because of how "good" they are, i can only think of the irony. Good cant exist with out the lack of good, or as we call it "evil." Much like if someone gave you a million dollars, then someone took that million dollars away from you the next day. You are in the same situation you were the day before, not a dollar richer, or a dollar poorer. But because that million dollars was there for any point in time you become angry, because what you had is no longer there.

Every one is good till someone does somthing less good, then we are all sinners, right?

^^^^thermometer can measure how cold somthing is and there could be plenty of light, but according to the light spectra how dark it is.
Good is Evil, so God is Evil

I the fuck care.
And i loves a challenge ;)
If it annoys you so much then don't watch the vids. It's extraordinarily simple. I avoid talking religion outside religious vids.

I did say "mostly" btw.

"I just want to say one word to you. Just one word: plastics."
- Calder Willingham, The Graduate

oh no wait, wrong quote. Here you go;

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."
- Galileo Galilei

With or without religion you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things...
that takes religion

Ahh, Now I get it. Your a fundimentalist. And just like others of your kind are too closed minded to hear anything other than your own opnion. Gee and so many of your vids start with talking about being reasonable intelegent people. SO by admitting to being fundimentalists you have just proven you are not reasonable intelegent people. You like the people you disrespecet for being the same thing but in another direction have already closed your mind to any other posibilities. This makes me sad. A mind is a terrible thing to keep closed.

This wasn't that bad. They were valid question that someone would pose in a discussion. The problem is, most of these questions are answerable within the domain of a religion. The religion substantiates itself by referencing itself. But that is natural of any thought system.

1. Because the punishment/reward you're seeing is temporal, not the 'eternal reward', heaven/hell stuff that God doles out.

2. Direct interference by God destroys free will. God cracking out a miracle every time something untoward happens to a good person would be such interference.

3. See point #2. Interference and free will.

4. Uh, 7 days if you recall. And I'm pretty certain the Bible says nothing about creation taking place 6,000 years ago - that's some Christians that are trying to take things too literally. The whole creation thing's alegorical anyway. The equivalent of saying "Long, long ago in a kingdom far, far away..."

5. No. Have I ever directly asked God for a favour, asking please, please, please do this for me? Also no. To do so would be ... presumptuous.

6. Of course not. The Bible is a collection of works made by several different groups of Jews and Christians over a long, long period of time. Some of these groups had wildly differing views on what was right and important. What's important about the Bible isn't the exact, truthful, word - it's the message.

7. Sure, why not? There are several parts in both the Bible and Koran that are often overlooked - parts that specifically acknowledge the existance and relevence of other faiths, and say to respect one another. Particularly of note is the fact that neither religeon (Islam or Christianity) was originally intended to be a "universal" faith. They were particular to the groups for whom their books were written. They don't say hey, everybody has to be a Christian, they just say hey, you, tribes of Abraham - y'all are Christians and Yaweh is your God. Here's what he's got to say.

8. Because generally speaking anything that is supernatural is, by definition, something that defies explanation by natural means? I mean that is sorta what the word means after all.

9. See #2 - free will and interference. Roll that one back a little bit, though - when has God -ever- directly shown himself? Not working thru an intermediary, a messenger, etc. Just "Yo, sup? I'm God".

10. This one's phrased awkwardly. It's not necessarily that God showed himself to people all the time, it's that God was used as an explanation all the time. And therein lies your answer - because back then we, as humans, were a bunch of ignorant tribesman living in mud huts and needed priests to tell us not to do certain things (because GOD said so!) so as to avoid wiping ourselves off the face of the earth. Seriously. A lot of the old testament reads like a guidebook on how to have your civilization survive, and then the God label was slapped on so it couldn't be ignored or refuted. Nowadays we have a much deeper understanding of how and why the world works. "A wizard did it" doesn't need to be the explanation for everything anymore. Faith stops being a viable substitute for reason. That's why.

11. Heh, somebody's read Ctrl+Alt+Del recently. The simple answer is that I wouldn't. I'd take solace is my belief, and you're free to believe or not believe as you see fit.

12. A dream is a series of mental images and emotions that occur during sleep. Hallucinations are experiences of sensory imput that arn't actually there - usually brought about by illness or chemical influence. A vision from God ... doesn't happen. See point #2.

13. It isn't. See several of the points above. Also note that the Bible itself acknowledges other gods. "You shall have no gods before me" pretty much states that yeah, while there are other gods out there, that I, the Big Y, am the god of your tribe so listen up.

14. You *69, check the number, then give God a ring and ask him "Hey, by the way, did you just call me?" All goes back to non-interference, and excuses being made in the name of a supernatural entity rather than taking personal responsibility.

Answer: God is as real as your belief in God. If you need direct proof of God, interference from God, then in fact you have no belief in God. Faith has to do with belief in the absence of proof.

I wonder if you are really searching for answers to these questions or if they are mearly meant to make christians reflect on their own beliefs. If you had honest and logical answers would it change your mind?
