The Battle for Iwo Jima

The Battle of Iwo Jima was fought during the Pacific Campaign of World War II. The defenders were well entrenched and instructed to defend the island to the last man. Composed using rare and original colour footage shot during the campaign. Music sourced from the Band of Brothers soundtrack.

Can you you expand on who you think "they" are please. Most major US engagments had film crews attached to as a matter of fact, just not allways colour.

man i wish we had more of these movies, but what is most disturbing is the part where the man at the front of the line gets shot and the rest keep going. shows just how brave these people were. Fight for your country, die for your country, better to die fighting then to die of old age

my next door neighbor was there on Iwo, and he always says "old age is only for the courageous", but now he is approaching 90 and says maybe the guys that died on that hell hole were better off.
