There was some kind of an add-on for this, where you could put floppy disks in it and not those oversized disks. i know cuz i had it.

Actually that's the UK Super Nintendo and was based off of the Japanese version called Super Famicon, which was also released 2 years before. The newest SNES uses the original US color scheme with similar features presented above.
