Dozens of fire and emergency crews are on the scene of some type of explosion near Grand Central Terminal inManhattan during the evening rush hour. No word if there are any injuries or what sparked the blast.

Looks like some kind of pipeline rupture. I, of course, am an expert.

Edit: from CNN.com: "One person died and at least 16 were injured when a steam pipe burst in midtown Manhattan Wednesday, causing a transformer to explode and sending thick plumes of steam and ash into the air near Grand Central Terminal, New York officials said."

A steam pipe burst, did kill one person and injurred many others, I don't know the number but one person is dead.
