The first breakdown in rock music. It has been copied mostly by hardcore bands many times since but I don't think any have really come close to the crushing heaviness of this. (The band is Pantera)

I have heard breakdowns in punk hardcore for years prior to this when the boys on stage didn't have a 2 minute song to run thru but were in the mood to fuck around.

Not dissing the clip, but know your shit before making your opinion into fact for the rest of us. Just because it is that way in your reality doesn't mean it is for the rest of us.

You musical morons surely realize that "breakdowns" existed LONG before metal. Jazz has tons of breakdowns,
as does Reggae...well, pretty much all forms of music
can and/or do have breakdowns. Galloping traces it's
roots to Spanish and South American rhythms. Listen
to John Coltrane's "Ole" for a great double bass
breakdown with wicked galloping.

That being said, I agree that few bands could perform
a breakdown with such pulverizing force as Pantera.

Fucking Sick. I'm getting so sick of new music these days and i still see people putting up good shit like this and i get happy in the pants thinking that FUCKING SHITTY FUSE network will shut down and another god-like metal band will come by someday. But it will not touch Pantera or other bands like it.

You guys should stop watching tv and find modern bands that DO rock instead of broadly generalizing music. Saying all music is bad because you watch MTV is like saying all women are ugly lesbians because all I ever watch is Lifetime.
