Although I've never been a huge Dream Theatre fan, you have to respect the massive skill of everyone in that band. Their time signatures and riffs are crazy. Amazing talent

i was never a huge Dream Theater fan...there songs last way to long. But the song honor thy father is one of the most bad ass songs ever. And the drummer is prolly one of the best i have ever heard.

ahaha JM at the end =) that was cool (out of character)..

Dream Theater is my idol band.. I can understand why people might not like them, but as mentioned above.. DT consists of some of the greatest semi-mainstream musicians of all time. yes, there are better, but u dont get much of them mainstream.

That shit sucked. The vocals, guitar, none of it matched. The only decent, if you can call it that, part was the opening with just the guitar.

HATE show off bands like this. More concerned with stupid arpeggios and scales that how to write a song.

Only Rush was able to make extremely complex songs that still sounded simple unless you analyzed them to death, thus missing the point.

This band sounds like a Guitar Center commercial. Shitty generic singer that offers nothing at all.

Stupid band, glad that no one ever took them seriously and they remain a Class C band.

too fucking repetitive, all of dream thetaer's songs sonud pretty much the same, i mean seriously ultra high speed virtuoso playing is so overrated, what happened to the emotional side of music which evokes tru intense feelings and not just the reaction "oh fuck, that shit is fast". want to listen to something really innovative try aphex twin, squarepusher, kings of convenience, pink floyd there is a ton ofmusic out there that is not just there to impress people but to actually provide them with some culture and real pleasure

Petrucci is my idol, he's a fucking god on guitar. Check out Mike Portneys stage drum set. He uses a 32 piece set i think its ridiculous. the drum solo at the end of Finally Free is the best i think I've ever heard.

you cant say dream theater just plays super fast virtuoso speed crap and has no emotion. have you listened to the lyrics on most of their songs? go download lost without you, sure it has a few fast parts, but its one of the most emotional songs ive ever heard.

Where's Primus today? Oh that's right, in a museum.

Being technical does not make a band, otherwise guys like Satriani and Vai would be playing more than the occasional Walmart or Target World Tour.

Dream Theatre write songs about as good as asians. Matter of fact DT sounds alot like Loudness.
